The Sales Forecast allows to forecast your sales, cost of sale and margins by key customer/ product group which then automatically sales to the product group sales and cost of sale accounts you specify in the P&L Account The Product groups are setup under the COA facility by setting up one to one relationships between Product Group Sales and Cost of Sales accounts This is not used by all companies as forecasts are often derived from other systems or methods. You may want to setup a custom spreadsheet to achieve the same result.
The Sales form allows you to forecast your main sales prospects and keep track of the main customers you have sold to in the past. It is not anticipated that this feature is used to forecast every single prospect but only to keep track of the key customers or category of sale. Past Periods, coloured buff/grey are closed off so you cannot change the past! You can however enter data into the current period so you have a historic record of your key sales by period. Each prospect can be assigned a probability and COS% so that Probablised Revenue and Cost of Sale are saved back to the P&L Account by product. Other fields that can be populated include SMAN(salesman) and 2 Spare Analysis fields
